Welcome 2009 - [Deb]

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to our website.  We're so glad you stopped by.  MPK has had a very productive year, averaging about 2 concerts a month (considering my day job as an RN in critical care @ St. Joseph's hospital, every other weekend ^_^)  Hope your year was all that you wanted it to be.

Another milestone for us is that we released our 3rd CD December 13th, 2008.  The project is titled, "MPK Forever Fiddling" and follows the requests of many, an all Scottish fiddle CD.  You will find many traditional tunes, some played and sung, most fiddled.  Two of Dr. John Turner's songs played by MPK are on it, "The James in Spate" and "Farewell to Auchtermuchty".  We are grateful for his willingness to "lend us" his wonderful tunes.

Our biggest challenge for 2009 is that we are seeking grant funding for a tour of our band to the Western Hebrides and some of the Mainland October 19-November 9, 2009.    It will be titled The Forever Fiddling Tour.We are looking to the Lord for His supply.  Please pray for this venture.

Our prayer for you is that you will understand the times that we are in and that you will come to know the Savior, Jesus.  We believe He is returning, but it is going to get "a whole lot" darker in this world before He does.  If there ever was a time to stand for what is right, that time is now.

May your 2009 be a blessed year with many opportunities for you.

Check out our show schedule and come and join us for a concert!

Your friends, MPK Christian Celtic Band

Deb, Dawn, Joanna, Maranatha, Noah and Ezra, the youngest and newest member of the band (rocks on the tambourine!)

Neillsville Area Players production of Cinderella - [Deb]

Hi Everyone,

The entire MPK Christian Celtic Band crew will be involved in the Neillsville Area Players production of Cinderella.  How exciting is that!  ^_^.  Joanna tried out for and received the lead role of Cnderella, herself .  Dawn, staying in true character, is the fairy godmother.   "Fal der all and fid dle ee dee".  Maranatha plays the role of the younger sister (which is a switch for her considering  she is the older sister in real life) she is a townsperson and dances in the ball.  Noah is a guard.  Alex (our soundman) is the chef and last but not least, I'm having the most fun playing in the mini orchestra with my violin.

We would like to invite you to this exciting and wonderful event!

DATE:  Father's Day weekend:  June 12...7pm, June 13...7pm...June 14...2pm and 7pm and June 15 2pm

Concert @ Chestnut Center - [Deb]

Hi Everyone,  Just wanted to let you know that the March 17th St. Patrick's Day concert @ the Chestnut Center was wonderful.  Bridget and Mark were very gracious to us.  Their attitude is so upbeat.  You can tell they love what they do.  There were around 100 people in attendance and we felt very warmly received.  People were very positive towards MPK.  Noah's drum shield was smashingly successful.  Thank you Preston, you saved the day!  Two of the concert attendees survived capture by the "Last of the Mohiccans".  In fact, they left enjoying their free cd's!   Our cd sales staff kept busy in the back of the auditorium.  All in all, it was a great night.  Hopefully, we'll set something up for next year and start the MPK Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration.  Ron was a wonderful host and we all went away learning more about St. patrick than we knew before.

Remember to check out our show schedule to see what we're busy doing.

We are all excited and as for me I live from "gig to gig".  Love it!  Love Jesus!
